YOGA IS AN ancient Indian form of physical exercise that has grown popular in the Western world over the past few decades.
The Skyline is a 17-storey walkway around the roof of Croke Park that allows visitors to get a look at Dublin from the sky.
You might think that the two are unrelated, but you’d be wrong, as Croke Park has launched a series of outdoor yoga classes on the Skyline. Gulp.
Starting in May, instructor Aisling Conn will teach ‘intimate’ classes of 15 students on the roof of the stadium. Look at her there now, doing her yoga up in the sky and not clinging on for dear life. Very admirable.
You’d be forgiven for thinking this was an April Fool’s joke, but the tickets are €25 a pop and very much on sale – and it appears that the first two classes are already sold out.
Isn’t yoga supposed to be relaxing, though? Here’s what the folks at Croker have to say about it:
Here at the home of Gaelic Games we are all about reaching new heights, promoting positive physical and mental wellbeing and creating unforgettable experiences for our visitors, so Yoga on the Etihad Skyline was a natural fit.
“A natural fit.” Well. Sure? We’ll see you up there…
